Minors Computer Use Policy



Minors for the purpose of this document, will be defined as all patrons less than 18 years of age.

Minors who have completed grade 6 must adhere to the policy as outlined in the Computer Use Policy.

Minors in grades 6 or under will have access to computers in the children’s room and must sign in at the children’s reference desk. The following restrictions will apply:



Parents are not required to sit with their child while he/she is at the computer terminal however the library strongly recommends that parents take an active interest in and responsibility for their child’s online use.

One computer is dedicated for research and has unlimited filtered access. All minors using this terminal must adhere to rules as outlined in the Library’s Internet Acceptable Use Policy. Failure to do so will result in loss of privileges.

Parents wishing to deny their minor child internet access must contact the library in writing.

Adults and minors who have completed grade 6 who are not accompanied by a child are not permitted to use the children’s computer’s without expressed permission from the library staff.
